Barbara Landis began to study photography in the late ‘70s. She graduated from San Francisco State University in 1980 with a BA in Art, photography emphasis. She has maintained a photo studio in the outer Richmond district for 34 years.
While primarily a people photographer, Barbara has tuned in to the beauty of nature to help and heal over the years. Among other places, she may be seen locally photographing magnolia trees in midwinter. Her aim is to see the true essence in any image, from landscapes to cultural events all over the world. Sometimes her vision extends into abstract images.
Her work has been exhibited in juried shows for four decades. Awards include: Frank Bette Center for the Arts, Alameda, CA
