Barbara McLain is a Bay Area based painter.  Barbara’s emphasis on figuration has evolved to merging the figure with abstraction, as well as a recent exploration into the use of cold wax with oil paint. She has been consistently showing her work in group and juried exhibitions at multiple venues in the Bay Area. In 2020, Barbara was awarded a solo museum exhibit at Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, called, “Go Figure: Conversations From the Wall”. The Marin Independent Journal wrote an article in February 2021 entitled “Painting the Wounds: Nicasio Artist Brings Hospice Nursing Experience in Artwork” by Colleen Bidwell, 2/7/21. In April, Barbara was juried into a national show at Buckham Gallery in Michigan by John Seed, author of the book Disrupted Realism: Paintings For a Distracted World, 2019.
