Catie Riggs is an artist, musician, and acoustician — born in a suburb of Boston, raised with the mindset of ‘why buy when you could make?’ As such, she has always tried to focus her creative energy into making ‘useful’ objects, from clothing to wallets to shelving. After moving to San Francisco in 2017, she has been able to make more space and time for creating. Her current visual artwork is primarily abstract, exploring the unspoken and other worlds. She sees each piece an experiment, so much so that rarely does a piece have a “right way up”. Charcoal, acrylics, pastels, and oils are in frequent use.
