Cynthia Lee Darling is a San Francisco scientist, painter and jeweler. She has been a jeweler for over 30 years but has just recently started diving into abstract painting. The coronavirus pandemic has pushed her to become innovative and experimental with her painting style. Inspired by her love of geometry from her minor in math, she paints shapes and lines to create memorizing patterns. She loves the process of painting and forming an image from a blank canvas. She is fascinated by the challenge of aligning shapes, lines, and colors to create an interesting composition. Her paintings are not meant to represent reality, but another realm of the imagination, a world to be interpreted by the viewer’s own experiences, emotions, and thoughts.
