Born and raised in Iowa, Denia moved to San Francisco, California, in 2007, and combined with previous midwest experience worked as a professional computer web and software engineer for over 20 years.
Since retiring from computer programming, she has been a full-time artist, and enjoys executing murals, mosaics, watercolors and acrylic painting, ceramic arts, photography, and digital compositions. Her current focus is the innovative A.R.C. (Acrylic, Resin, & Ceramic in one work), unique in the art world, as well as other mixed media works. She is a member artist with studio space at Jingletown Art Studios, Oakland, CA.
Her rhyming children’s book, “Scotty McDog Meets Kitty O’Cat”, was written and illustrated around 1992, then kept in a box until the first part of 2020 when the series of watercolor paintings were completed and the book was published. At that point, she set the text to music, creating a sing-a-long experience.
Denia lives in Benicia, California, with her husband, Jerry, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog, Trini.
