Kristi Oshiro

Kris Oshiro’s art work is inspired by the California landscape she was forged in. She works mainly in clay, but many mediums; fabric, embroidery, basketry, wood, and anything else she is inspired by can end up in her work. Her ceramics balance simplicity and elegance in form with the complexity and unpredictability of nature. Kris has been exploring ceramics for over 25 years. For her, it is a practice and a language that speaks to her soul, that teaches her about herself and the world around her. Her lessons from clay are to slow down, to be present, and to connect: with self, with breath, with earth and elements, and community.
