Marian Yap is a Bay Area based artist working in a variety of media.
“Elements of the natural world provide the inspiration for most of my current paintings. I am guided by intuition, emotional response and a sense of exploration of the materials. I move easily from painting on canvas to mixed media and other works on paper, including pastel and monoprints. I strive for simplicity and visual clarity in my work. I am also interested in the subtle variations and effects of colors. As I reinterpret landscapes I also want to include my emotional language and use color, not always as presented by nature, to express and convey my impressions
