About the Artist – Glass-Vox
After years in office cubicles, Mary switched gears and headed toward the arts! She trained and worked as a voice actor, dabbled in photography and film work, started playing with paint and fabric, and then while visiting an artist colony in Canada, discovered the joy of working with glass. Settling into the imprecise nature of fused glass and inspired by travel, people, books and nature she began experimenting with texture and shape. Selecting glass and making each piece by hand is a meditation, so no two pieces are ever exactly alike – as it should be!
Mary is a member of the Oakland Cottage Industry and makes her art in Oakland, California.
