Natalie Turner

Natalie Turner is a self taught painter and poet, drawing her subject matter from life’s beauty and lessons.  One will find her acrylic paintings and charcoal drawings, accompanied by rhythmic in-depth writings.  At times she integrates specific letters, numbers, or figures that add both universal and symbolic meanings to herself and those closest to her.

She seeks and finds inspiration in all she encounters, with a partiality to music and nature.  Natalie loves the challenge of working with acrylic paints.  Her countless brush strokes and extensive blending of colors evoke the variation and contrast of human emotions.  By choosing to paint directly on paper instead of the more traditional canvas, this conveys fragility and resilience.  Eventually, the two separate creative processes become fused.  Generally once a poem is written, she envisions the painting that will accompany it, however at times the painting takes the initial order.

Natalie makes art as an external expression revealing the deeper meanings that exist at the core of everyday situations we all encounter.  She views her works as relatable parables, with no divisions.

Residing in the Bay Area, Natalie Ann shares life with her amazing husband, supporter and muse, and her feathered companion Picasso, a Green Cheek Conure.
