Nersel Muehlen

Nersel is a classical oil painter and member of the Art Renewal Center, Portrait Society of America, Women Painters of America, and Oil Painters of America. She has taught oil painting classes in New Jersey, New York, and California for nearly a decade. Her creative work encompasses photorealistic portrait paintings, travel-inspired scenes, ethnic costumes, diverse cultures, and faces from around the world. Her signature is painting soulful eyes with empathy, curiosity, and love.

Born and raised in Istanbul, Türkiye, Nersel moved to the United States at age 23. She has been drawing as long as she can remember. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and two Master’s Degrees. After a fifteen-year career in the business world, she chose to leave her professional role to pursue creative arts in various forms and live art fully. Over the years she has studied design, drawing, and painting at the New York Academy of Art, Fashion Institute of Technology, and the Parsons School of Design at The New School in New York City. She has trained with award-winning master artists in the Old Masters’ technique of oil painting for the past ten years.
