Virginia Van Zandt has been a photographer in San Francisco since the 1970’s, when she specialized in events, dance and portrait work and produced photographs to accompany her own published articles. Her photographs appeared in the SF Chronicle, Bay Guardian, BAM, SF Business Journal, Rock and Roll News and other publications. Throughout a 25 year career as a non-profit executive, she also used her photographic skills in promotional materials and publications.
In turning to fine art photography she finds challenges in uncovering the beauty, symmetry and design in everyday scenes and events. Using the natural beauty of San Francisco, as well as travels in the United States and Europe, her images strive to evoke the mystery and allure of the world around us. Virginia’s photographs have been shown at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Lewis, Colorado and the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery.
