Open Call for Entries: Art Banners
Banner theme: “Loving Golden Gate Park”
Submissions Deadline: SEPTEMBER 2
San Francisco Women Artists (SFWA) invites all Bay Area artists to submit works based on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for a juried Art Banner competition. Funded through SF Grants for the Arts, the Loving Golden Gate Park banners will provide local artists an exciting opportunity to showcase their work in the vibrant Inner Sunset bordering Golden Gate Park.
Founded in the 1870’s, our treasured Golden Gate Park is three miles long and a half mile wide; nestled within its thousand plus acres are many flower gardens and dedicated groves, expansive playgrounds, hidden lakes, and an array of cultural/historical monuments, including renowned public venues such as the de Young Museum, the Academy of Sciences, the Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake and the Botanical Gardens. Explore, be inspired and create something you love and wish to share about our Golden Gate Park.
Selected artworks will be digitally transferred onto 3’ x 6’ vertical vinyl banners installed on lampposts on Irving Street from 7th to 9th Avenue. To best utilize the banner specs, colorful and crisp designs are encouraged. While visually enhancing the Irving Street commercial corridor, serving as a gateway to Golden Gate Park, the banners showing your work will be seen by thousands.
Cash awards: Artists whose work is selected will receive a $100 honorarium per image.
Fees: Entry fee is $45 for up to 3 entries. SFWA Members Entry Fee is $30 for up to 3 entries – Use the Member discount code you have been sent after logging in to Smarter Entry. Learn more about becoming an SFWA member here. Fees are paid online at time of submission and are not refundable.
