Photographer’s Eye, Juror’s Choices

We kick off the New Year with our Annual Photography Show, Photographer’s Eye.

Honored to have 50 stellar pieces JURIED by Melissa Castro Keesor, Director of the Harvey Milk Photo Center here in San Francisco, and her choice of these 3 implacably crafted photographs as this months’ JUROR’S CHOICES.

Alys Briggs: Europe Re-Envisioned No. 12 –  “I love the color palette, the texture, and the movement throughout this image.  The layering of shapes, linear and organic, make this an interesting photograph with a lot of depth and emotion.  It is the beginning of a story you want to know about.”

Susan R. Kirshenbaum – Tree Series: Fog and Mist – “The composition, color palette, and opposing image are elements that make this image work – it is not perfectly symmetric and that adds to its interest.  There is so much to see but you are led there gently.”

Virginia Van Zandt: Journey –  “The many layers to this rich black and white image make you feel like you are there.  You can almost feel the swirling air and sand. A feeling of vastness.”
